Framing similar issues differently: a cross-cultural discourse analysis of news images

Few studies have focused on visual representation of crime-related events in news images across national contexts. In this study, eighty-three from two hundred Iranian and Dutch articles published newspapers were qualitatively analyzed. These scrutinized for their use semiotic strategies as well the overall pattern. The findings showed few similarities notable differences between cultural Visual Pattern Analysis led to identification six framing patterns.
